DevConf.US Community Building
Founded DevConf.US as an annual, free, Red Hat-sponsored technology conference for the North American open source community. Successfully adapted the international conference model with dedicated family support, scholarship programs targeting historically excluded technologists, and unusually strong representation of women speakers for a technical event of its size. Developed virtual conference patterns during the pandemic that later informed discussions about larger enterprise event design, including Red Hat Summit. Transitioned to emeritus advisory role with sustainable community leadership.
Key Components: Conference format innovation, inclusive community building, virtual event pioneering, sustainable leadership transition
